Mind Over Grey Matter

Always a grey area when it comes to right and wrong. Always A thin line between black and white. *****Trigger warning: Sensitive content below******

Mind Over Grey Matter

It has been said you are what you eat,

You are what you think, and we are all what we believe,

Nothing is impossible, mind over matter.

Grey or white, black or blue,

Preparation, deliverance, or instant gratification,

Bottle by the bed,

On the nightstand collecting dust,

White noise whispers in the background,

Black and white intertwining into grey matter,

Hiding the auditory hallucinations,

Flashing lights, through the windows,

Looking behind you in paranoia,

Naked and vulnerable,

Creeping in the windows,

As a shadow dancer on the wall,

Dragon's breath blowing slowly through your nose,

As the hell exits your brain,

Madness and Mayhem,

Clouding the brain,

Murdering the thoughts of slaying the demon within,

Cross upside down over the bed,

Pathogenic Wind from one vessel to another,

A poltergeist from one side of the screen to another,

A mirror of two faces,

One of the prisoners past,

One of the fortune tellers future,

Hovering over the eight ball,

Blown up in smoke,

Four walls enclosing you within,

Inching closer and closer,

Enslaving you to its master,

Calling you again and again

Over and over again,

To answer its beckon,

Never remembering your name,

Only your skeleton face and the ghosts you have enslaved,

To remain inside the framework on the outside,

Unrecognizable, a hollow bullet casing of the shots fired,

Rigged and strapped,

Blown and flown,

Used and tossed out for yesterday's garbage.

Feeling torn and dirty,

Ugly yet beautifully broken,

Pay the man at the door for using his time,

Guarding my forever internal torment,

Poisoned and left for dead.

My mind will be eternally damaged,

Lost between the white mind over grey matter.
