Dear Moon,

I wonder if you can see my pain?

Can you sense my emotions?

You know;

The ones I hide inside of my broken

heart, every night;

The ones I don't let my husband see,

Whilst trying to protect him from his own pain?

Indeed,

Yes, I know I should talk about them;

The truth is,

I don't want to,

Nobody seems to understand this pain.

I agree;

He is still alive,

Still breathing,

Still walking,

Still talking,

But;

That doesn't take away the excruciating pain,

The horrible shaking,

The nightmares,

The balance problems;

The pain that he carries all day,

All night,

For the rest of his life.

Fear of disabilities is something nobody should have to live with,

But;

I see fear in my husband's eyes every day,

When he is in pain,

When he is shaking,

When he is confused,

When he doesn't know what is wrong;

But;

Do you know what, Dear Moon?

I will run my fingers gently down the scar

on the back of his neck,

I will get up and support him every day,

I will hold him while he shakes,

I will love him for the rest of his life.

My dearest Moon,

The only thing I ask from you;

Please send healing to my husband

Because, in a world where nobody else cares,

We do;

And if we unite together,

We can light up his world with love, forever.
