Midnight Heartburn

A Silly poem for a serious discomfort. We've all had it, but don't talk about it.

I.

Stomach burns!

Gas churns!

II.

Pings of pain

In the night, it doesn’t wane.

III.

Was it the processed meat

Or too much wheat?

IV.

All I know

This discomfort will grow.

V.

That damn food, so cheap

Robs me of sleep!

VI.

The spice burns

My stomach churns.

VII.

All the while

It fills with bile.

VIII.

Can't find some ease

make it end, please!

IX.

Antacid is my hope

In the house? Nope!

X.

What's there to do

But feel so blue?

XI.

Just find me relief

from this upset thief.
