Midnight Dance

A poem for the inverse challenge

In my dreams our figures dance

A song of love like fate not chance

You whisper to me words thought untold

Wearing a dress of silver and gold

Your voice echoes throughout the night

Complimented by the shine of stars so bright

A mystery hidden in the groaning breeze

As we dance the waltz among tall trees

Reflection of the moon on a still lake

Like a mirror that’s tempting someone to break

Not even a ripple across the moon lit sky

The clearest of nights like the clouds are shy

What a divine moment like stuck in a trance

We move and glide in sweet romance

When dawn awakens and stars descend

The cosmic dance will come to its end
