Memory's Fading Light

Memory

In the depths of our minds,

Lies a place where memories hide,

A corner that we all have,

Where old thoughts reside.

Sometimes they come to light,

Like a spark in the dark,

Reminding us of days gone by,

Of loves, of joys, of a life.

But sometimes they fade away,

Like a mist in the morning light,

Leaving only a vague memory,

Of a time that once was bright.

And we wonder why it is,

That some memories last forever,

While others fade away like dew,

In the warmth of life's endeavors.

Perhaps it's in the way we hold them,

In the corners of our minds,

That some memories stand the test of time,

While others fade with time's confines.

But even as they fade away,

They leave a mark upon our souls,

For every memory, bright or gray,

Is a part of who we are as a whole.

So let us cherish every memory,

Hold them close, and never let go,

For in the end, they are all we have,

Of a life that has come and gone.

And when our memory's fading light,

Is but a glimmer in the dark,

Let us take solace in the fact,

That our memories will always leave a mark.
