I ran from memory because it took too much time
Memories run their course like cursive loops bending ‘feeling’ to trigger; heavily armed
Memories turn your insides black and blue, reminding you of every beat without gloves
It becomes a bare-knuckled attempt at reconciling with the meaning of meaningless metaphors
Nothing feels like it exists except to pass, embedding yesterdays like sinking pebbles on a river only tangible to those not afraid to remember…
…growing pains…a profanity among the very lips of unlearned lives, a hierarchy so invisible it shapes the very corridors of the hall of memory…
I’ve walked only to watch its walls extend beyond the finish line; it’s a race where starting is as meaningless as its climax…
…but remembrance is the trophy for those willing to keep treading, one foot infront of the other…
