May your family be always lovingly near
In troubled times as well as good
Soothing and comforting your every fear
Whether in countryside or a city hood
May the road neath your tired feet be cool
The breeze refreshing and light
May your friends your heartstrings pull
And your detractors not wish to fight
May your kite, grand tail trailing, always fly high
Soaring through blue skies striking no tree
May it land safely, gently, by and by
Having flown, like your heart, high and free
May your lovelife be joyful and tender
Your kisses, given and received, often and sweet
May you be less borrower, more a lender
Lending grace with every robin's melodic tweet
May your health be good, your physicality robust
Keeping this bodily temple supple, strong
May you live each day as if it was your final
Doing good to all, avoiding wrong
May you find help when needed
When times are sorrowful or bad
May those you've helped in the past
Be there for you when you are sad
May you hold your children tight
Knowing they are precious and loved
May your grandchildren be many
As they jostle to your knee, hopefully not shoved
May your priority be happiness, yours and others
Still, realizing to not be a burden you must work
May you dance in the evening around the campfire
During the day your chores do not shirk
May your morning travels be bound West
Your evening trail East bound
Keeping the sun at your back the wind in your hair
May a needed hug in troubled times readily found
May your final days be in the bosom
Of those you love who love you as well
May you gather them by your bedside
To sing praises and say tearful farewell
Then when you are gone from this green earth
When your mortal remains are laid to rest
You can rest peacefully, quiet
Knowing you did your best
