Masquerade

A first meeting

Her dark eyes

Her mesmerizing - nearly black - eyes

Visible under her hood.

Her costume intrigued

Veiled, covered

Yet shapely.

Smitten, approaching, weak-kneed,

Willing myself brave.

Tipping my cowboy hat,

Asking her name.

Her answer?

Aphrodite.

Certainly believable.

Seductive, breath-takingly stunning.

She had no use for my name

I took no notice.

She led to the floor...

Dancing

Kissing

Caressing

My lovely goddess beckoned.

I followed, lost to myself.

The following day, I awoke,

Recalling ecstasy not of this world.

She had taken my heart

And left me alone,

With the memory of

Her dark eyes.

Her mesmerizing - nearly black - eyes.
