cruel fates arrows leave lasting scars

By Savannah K. WilsonPublished 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

No one told me it would hurt this much

To finally feel that way, to feel ... in love

Realising that no other times have been this

Meant this

Waited patiently all these years to meet ‘the one’

Only to discover that’s not how it works

Life ... is not that fair

Love is a cruel game, it seems hell-bent on destruction

My destruction

Well you win! I cannot deal with your continued onslaught

I give in. I will it all away! Take this pain from me

They say, ‘it is better to have loved and lost than never loved at all,’

I believe these people to be fools!

Who have never known the true sting of love

For love is not something that can be lost once found

I finally know this now, as one who has never known love before

But now I have felt it, and the danger it holds

Take it away, for it it would be better to never have loved at all

I would not wish this, wish love unrequited on my worst enemy
