Luna

a poem for my love

If I were the moon I'd change color too

I wouldn't go to bed at dawn but stay up all day and blend in with the sky

I wouldn't leave you at night but instead keep you company through the dark

In the winter I would turn shades a yellow orange and red to remind you of warmth

In the summer I would stay bright all night just so you can stay up all night too

If I were the moon I'd change in anyway, just for you.

But

If I were the moon, I'd hope you'd love me for my craters

My faults, and dark spots

If I'm sometimes not strong enough to shine with the sun

If I were the moon, I'd change color just for you
