LOVE WENT SOUR
The moon turned cold,
You closed the door,
The heart you held,
Lay on the floor.
The roses died,
The red turned black,
You took your love,
And gave none back.
Your gentle words,
Became like stone,
You stood beside me,
Yet left me alone.
The nights grew dark,
The mornings cried,
The love we treasured,
Slowly died.
Your empty kiss,
Felt cold and strange,
I saw your eyes,
Begin to change.
The sweetness left,
The poison grew,
I lost myself,
While loving you.
The shadows came,
Across our bed,
Our love was gone,
But not yet dead.
I held the ghost,
Of what we were,
But every memory,
Began to blur.
The final flame,
Went slowly out,
Leaving only pain,
Fear and doubt.
Our love went sour,
Our dream went wrong,
I lost your heart,
But found my song.
