LOVE

What is love?

Warm chocolate chip cookies?

Heartbeat skipping when they are present

The scent of a woman?

Where is love?

In the corner of your mind?

Left ventricle of your heart?

Certificate of marriage

Duly witnessed & noted?

Why is love?

Market diamonds, roses and cards?

To foster our lineage?

To complete our emptiness?

Love is a rose

Once plucked it begins to dies

Love is a desire

Never satiated

Never fulfilled

Love is neither of the heart

Nor is it of the mind

Can we choose love?

Do we fall in love?

A battle between to individuals

Struggling to fit?

I offer a thought

A thing that I’ve thunk

For your thoughts

Love sees not the flawless skin

Love feels not the caressing kisses

Love hears not the platitudes

Love is none of these things

Open your eyes and learn to see

Open your heart and learn to hear

Open your mind and begin to understand

Love is simple

Love is when your heart and mind

Finally are in sync with your soul

Your soul sees what your eyes cannot

Your soul feels what your heart cannot

Your souls knows what you mind cannot

It can be at first sight

It can be more than once

It can be simultaneous with many

It can be empty as space

What we believe is incomplete

A facet of the glorious jewel

We call love

You will see true beauty

You feel great joy

You know the true self

Once you allow your soul

To have its rightful place

Along side of your heart & mind

Fulfilling the destiny

Of seeing the universe

It’s unabashed glory

Embrace your soul

Embrace love

Never fear love

Be free

Become life

Love is real
