WHAT IF

What if I no Longer called you names

What if I no Longer had to label you

What if I no Longer was angry

What if I no Longer was jealous

What if I no Longer was disrespectful

What if I no Longer was unmitigated ass

Would it Change who I am

Would I Be less than you

Would I Slip into the dark night

Unseen

Unknown

Forgotten

It seems

The simple concepts

To love

To forgive

To help

To give a damn

Have been lost

Reach out

Your hand Your heart Your spirit

To that one who is Homeless, Depressed

Broken by life

***********

But do it

Not because

I said so

Your leader said so

Your good book said so

You feel guilty to not do so.

Do it because

It simply is the right thing to do

Give what you can

Reach out when you can

Listen when you can

Love when you can

There is no quota

You have to fulfill

Leave

The labels

The names

The categorization

The endless desire to put People, places and things

In a preordained order

***********

Instead Become human again

Care

Love

Respect
