Love Under a Watercolor Sky

All the ways I have loved you

I have loved you

Under a watercolor sky

When morning light had barely kissed

The petals drifting by

I have loved you

Against a velvet night of stars

Where we traded kisses between drinks

And darted in and out of bars

I have loved you

On rain-drenched days, windows thick with steam

Where there was only you and I

Wrapped in a world that was a dream

I have loved you

In the daylight beneath a warming sun

While waves stroked the sanded shore

And our love was never done

I have loved you

Face-to-face and also across miles

Loved you through anger, pain, and tears

Through laughter, sleep, and smiles

The sky will paint

Its many shades, erased and begun anew

And as long as I live under each new canvas

I will be loving you

Love, too, paints shades

As we change, shifting with time and tides

Many things may come and go

But this alone abides

An art created

By our hands, by joining lives together

If only for a moment shared

Or moments strung out through forever.
