Love Song

Feel the music.

Where has it gone

I often wonder where

As I hear its song

But it just isn't there

Take it to the end of things

Pushing it beyond reason

Still hearing the song it sings

It sings for us in each season

On a frosty winter lake

Standing at the end of the dock

Was letting it go a sad mistake

Why was there such a shock

While it's been singing so loud

Why can we not see it anywhere

Should such torment be allowed

This torture only leaves despair

Will it ever come to me

And will I be able to feel

Will I be able to see

A love that is real

For all the world to know its song

To be left with such a broken heart

It leaves life to feel so wrong

It was poisoned from the start

But in this emptiness that is so cruel

There comes a harsher truth you'll see

Did you always treat others by the rule

And treat them as you'd like to be
