Far travelled
Nothing behind
But memory
Is this love like moonlight?
Pale reflection
Stolen power
A pretender
Is this love like blue sky?
Empty air
Scattered light
Darkening
Is this love like desert water?
A ghostlike shimmer
Illusion
The dust never ending.
Or is this love like the Northern sun,
Long into the evening,
Never setting
A promise
Of water
Where there was once only ice.
