Love of war, an oxymoron so true,

For how can love and war go hand in hand,

When war brings destruction, and love brings peace anew,

Yet love of war has long plagued this land.

Warriors, they march with hearts full of pride,

Banners flying high, swords at the ready,

And in their eyes, a fierce fire they hide,

A love for war that is never steady.

But as they clash on the battlefield,

Bodies falling, blood soaking the ground,

Love of war, it begins to yield,

As love for life and peace is found.

For in the aftermath of war's bitter strife,

Amidst the rubble and the pain,

Love for one's fellow man, a new life,

Rises up, and love for war is slain.

So let us not forget the love we have,

For life, for peace, for all that's good,

And let us put an end to love of war,

As we march towards a brighter future we should.
