Chapter 7

Romero was born in Cuba and He and his family were anti Castro regime 100%. They left Cuba with great sadness because no one in the Marquez-Garcia wanted any part of the regime or communism. Romero was the oldest son which is why he was sent to the United States alone. Romero with his drums and guitar survived and there in the US he discovered his musical dreams and the keys to his future. All of the money that he made early on in his music Romero sent to his family in Cuba secretly to help them to come and to move to America with no problems or complications.

In Cuba B.C. The Marquez-Garcia family was one of the most famous and well known in music and television on the island. Before Tionne, Romero was dating the most super sexy playboy models celebrities in the Spanish speaking world.

For a little while he was connected with Mexican Novela actress Marisol, the star of Mexican Novela “Amor y Pais”.

At one point in time Romero was known more for his love of the ladies more than his music which had been overshadowed by his carnal pursuits. Although, Marisol and Romero were married they had an open marriage and so they were free to be with other people.

Tionne and Romero initially met during Miami Florida Fashion Week at a Gianni Versace Fashion show. Just a look in the eye between the 2 was enough to change something between them forever.

Romero’s musical influences

Willy Chirino, Selena, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Marc Anthony, Olga and Tony, Beny More.

Like Tionne, Romero was a student of music always though both enjoyed wonderful careers. Romero and his family came from Pinar del Rio , Consulacion del Sur like Willy Chirino. For Romero, Willy was an icon and idol for the young man. Once at an airport Romero met Willy. He told Willy that because of him Romero with every passing day was proud to be Cuban. Romero was on his way to Puerto Rico.

During their meeting Romero and Willy learned they were both mutual fans of each other. They also talked about what can be done to bring freedom back to their beloved island of Cuba. Romero, learned that he had much in common with his role model and icon and that truly made his day.
