Love Me, Love Me

Some losses don't heal, they just become a part of you

By Maame Akyere BoatengPublished 5 months ago 1 min read
FOR ANYONE WHO HAS EVER LOVED SOMEONE THEY COULD'NT KEEP

Love, genuine love

It's the kind of feeling that feels like I'm the most important person in the world.

From the right person, it's all I need.

His eyes made me feel special,

His touch was sensational,

The smile that crests on his face when he saw me,

His embrace that made me melt in his arms,

His scent always calmed me.

When I lost that, I wasn't the same -

Everything and everyone became dull.

I hated that I lost my first true love.

Our time together was timeless

Yet has passed untimely.

Will I ever feel this way again?

Everyone gallivanting,

Just to find a better half'

But I let my perfect one slip through my fingers.

How cruel of me - I treated that part of poorly; non-deserving.

The feeling of not being his - not being able to be in his arms - scares me to death.

Oh God, forgive my iniquities and make us whole again.

I need his love; his warmth.

I need to be whole again.

Without him, count me out of this world.
