Love Is Whispered, Never Sold

Love is love as the Boy George song says

Love Is Whispered, Never Sold

Love is whispered, never sold.
Never bought with hands of gold.
It lives in truth, not grand display.
Yet slips through careless hands away.

Some find warmth in soft embrace.
Some find silence in its place.
Some give all with open heart,
Only to watch their dreams depart.

Love is laughter after rain.
Love is comfort born from pain.
Love can heal the deepest scar,
Or leave us wondering who we are.

I’ve seen kindness wear a smile.
I’ve walked sorrow mile by mile.
Still I choose to hope once more,
Though I’ve stood at heartbreak’s door.

Love is patient, love is blind.
Sometimes cruel, sometimes kind.
It can build or it can break,
With every promise that we make.

Do we chase a perfect dream?
Or are we always what we seem?
Do we wear a careful mask,
Hiding every silent task?

If you’ve loved, then you will know.
Hearts can bloom and hearts let go.
Every ending leaves a sign,
Every soul seeks its light.

So, when you read these words from me,
Remember what 381 will always be.
Eight letters. Three words.
And a heart that still believes.
