Love is like a flower that blooms

But what sort of love?

Love is like a flower that blooms

Secrets hidden deep within

As it blooms from light and warmth

The beauty erupts therein.

But what of the flower that comes to be?

What kind of love will it reveal?

Is it one that is pure and sweet?

Like the petals of a sweet-smelling rose?

That intoxicating perfume

Can make a man do crazy things

But can be difficult to keep.

Or maybe more of a suggestive form

Like the shape of an orchid bold

The shape, the form,

Imagination running wild.

Perhaps it is the fragile type

The poise of a delicate tulip

Beautiful to gaze upon

But not for very long.

And what of the offensive kind

A relationship gone wrong?

The pungent odour of a corpse flower

The deadly grip of a Venus flytrap

That no one wants to have near

Reeking of things past.

Love can be like a flower that blooms

What flower is ours, you ask?....
