What is Love?
Is it a hug or a kiss?
Is it the gift we give our true half?
Is it sex and a baby?
The rose glow of joy?
Keep you safe from harm?
The fall of rain that can grow hope in your soul?
It’s more than that
It’s “baby don’t hurt me.”
It’s joy and pain.
It’s warm and cold
So near to hate
It’s fear of loss
It’s a wall you have to keep away loss
The bond that can fill you with so much life
Or it will kill you.
It’s when you care for more than you.
Many a word can be long
But only one word can say it all
And when you feel that pull to care
It’s love that will sing to your soul
That life is good when you love.
