Love Given, Is Returned
The Weeping Willow
The moon had a visitor last evening
The willow wept, “I feel so alone”
“Seems every promise given, is attached with a string,
I want to love a family of my own”
*
The moon took a moment to thoughtfully respond
He said, “willow, you are loved, beyond measure
Your reflection has completely enamored the pond
Your beauty ripples on his surface like a treasure.”
*
The wind chimed in with a soft, cool breeze
Causing her leaves and limbs to rise and gently sway
Whispering; “you exude love and beauty elegantly with ease
Everything you love, comes back to you, to stay.”
*
The willow felt the freedom in her movement
Such joy enveloped everything she was
She thanked the wind and moon both, for their patience
And loving her for her, with all her flaws
*
“I happily shine down on all my family
To illuminate and cover you in love
Whenever you need to feel closer to me
Raise your branches to the sky above.”
