Love Expired

Time Heals, or so They Say.

I know it's a vile chimera;

clinging to a broken dream,

That because of your photos

It's still alive in my fridge.

If time wanted it that way,

And I was given the chance

to forget you in the corner,

Where I keep my regrets;

I would run through these parts

Like the wind of a typhoon;

Just like an old ship,

That doesn't sink with the flood.

If it gifted me a kiss;

My reflection in the mirror,

I would no longer see you from afar

When I look at my hands.

So, in my pagan dreams

I manifest my fortune;

When looking at the moon,

I see the love we give each other,

Gone way too soon.

If my verses were a gift

That could brighten your day,

I would not hesitate

To give you all I've left to live.

For, we are what we give,

And I never gave you much;

Now every time I listen

“I don't know where we're going anymore.”

I see your eyes, already distant.

Well, now it's summer,

But I'm dying of cold;

I don't see you when I wake up,

I don't see you at night,

I only feel your emptiness.
