love every body—
when we talk about scars,
we often talk about the stories they tell:
stories of pain
stories of heartbreak
but most importantly,
our scars are proof of healing,
of loving,
of caring,
of surviving
show me a scar,
a wrinkle,
a stretch mark,
and i will show you a body that protects,
persists,
perseveres.
maybe
if each of us loved our body
like our body loves us,
then we could offer that same love
to every body -
bodies in human form
bodies of animals
bodies of water.
after all, aren’t we just miraculous
souls of energy & atoms?
