love

(sick)

By Sara Published 3 years ago • 1 min read

loving you was

a malady

that spread from my

heart

to my insides

until you were

all of me.

they call it love sick

because waking up

became a task

and sleep

never came

and all the pills

i swallowed

never made the pain

any duller.

your apathy

bruised my fragile skin

and i still cannot

face the mirror.

strangers point and say

that i am jaded

but i am merely

recovering

from the madness

you struck me with

that i never

want to feel again.

i am love cured

but i miss

the fever

and cold sweat.
