Love is a thief in the night

By Shams SaysPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

Love is a thief in the night

taking anything not nailed down

Your heart? That is the easy part

Your common sense, pride?

takes a little more elbow grease

but eventually, they will slide

self-respect and your time

they will come along too

because everybody needs the full set.

Keys to your bedroom, hell yes!

We know where the real work is done.

After your cupboard is bare

the thief leaves crumbs behind

so you know where to find him

nut fault your faulty locks

so flimsy a slight wind can unbind them…
