Love At First Sight

A love poem

By Cameron GlennPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

Does it exist?

I saw it and so it must.

Instant sight of it brought a bright feeling

Expanding into a warm relaxed buzzy electric bliss.

Like the pulse of the waves beating into sands in an endless kiss.

It pleasantly overwhelmed

Any rationality or logic or doubts.

It made me like butter melting in a pan

The sudden power of this beauty

Making a puddle of a man

She splashed and kicked and bathed and sang in.

Maybe it is just chemicals.

Biology and brains and pleasure neurons sparking endorphins.

Which pulls us to rescue us

From dreads of fears and pains

And all we desire to be taken away from

To escape into delusions of love.

Long ago a star exploded

And so I came to be, along with you and all we now see

And so I saw and thus seeing I am made to believe

That such unreal beauty and the powers it brings are real.

When did it begin?

Never for it always was

Simply needing to be seen once

In a flash to then know and

Understand forever.
