Light flashes all around revealing her face,

Covered in tear-stained lace.

Her body jolts with the roar of thunder,

And all else that may lie there under.

A figure dashes across the field,

The body thoroughly concealed.

A soft pitch squeals in the house,

Never fear – it was just a mouse.

Loud roar, smack, and crash of repeating thunder,

A glaring flash of lightning sets the scene a-wonder.

The figure was larger than a mere rodent,

Perhaps all would be revealed in just a moment.

Peering through the breeze from a small window,

Watching the display of lightning lights like a disco.

She screams in fright!

As she is embraced by Mister McKnight.

He questions her tears,

As she recalls her fears.

He asks if she saw him dash across the yard,

She smiles and states it left her on guard.

He reaches around her waist,

She finds places for feelings previously misplaced.

Together they stand with their hearts no longer pounding,

Staring ahead in awe of the sights surrounding.
