Love And Pocket Change

A Fools Game

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

And the night rolls along like a Slow moving train

I gave you everything I loved and so much more

My heart and soul and self esteem, down to my last pocketful of change

Leaving me knowing how it feels to be poor

Baby, to you, it’s all a game

You know I'd do anything for you

My love for you remains the same

Although you play me for a fool

If you could love me to my roots

Then, all my flower petals would be yours

I’d paint the moon a shade of blue

Every bloom bold and obscure

Art on the edge of the abyss

A tantalizing taste of heaven

But you wear poison on your lips

Keep me guessing, twenty four seven

If you'll ever feel for me again

The same way that I feel for you

Always keep me wondering

Just why you do the things you do
