lost my chance

your new girl

I saw her walking by your side,

A chosen girl, with grace and pride.

I couldn't help but feel outdone,

My longing heart felt all undone.

It seems you've found someone new,

A beautiful girl, there's no dispute.

I've lost my chance, that much is clear,

My heart sinks with a quiet tear.

I try to stay away from you,

Avoid your gaze, your smile, too.

Hoping this will help me heal,

And make the pain much less real.

Maybe someday I'll forget,

The way I feel, the love I kept.

Until then, I'll stay away,

And keep my heart at bay.
