A Farewell to an Ex-Lover

You were once my world, my heart's desire,

The love that I cherished, the fire that never died.

But now you're gone, and all that's left is a memory,

Of a love that once was, but now has ceased to be.

I still remember the way you smiled,

The way your eyes sparkled in the light.

And I can't help but think of all the laughter,

That we shared in the good times, night after night.

But now you're gone, and all that's left is pain,

A heart that's shattered, love lost in vain.

I thought our love was strong, that it would endure,

But now I'm left alone, so lonely and unsure.

I try to forget you, move on with my life,

But every time I try, you always cross my mind.

I see your face in every dream, hear your voice in every sound,

And I can't help but feel that you're still around.

So I'll say goodbye to you, my ex-lover, my friend,

And I'll try to find happiness, love that never ends.

And though you're gone, I'll always hold on to the past,

To the memories of us, that will forever last.

Lost love is a journey that's hard to understand,

But through the pain and tears, a brighter future's planned.

So I'll hold my head up high, and I'll smile once again,

And I'll find a love that will never end.
