Lost In Your Coldness
The warmth expired long ago

Lost In Your Coldness
I used to feel the warmth in you,
The little things you used to say,
I never thought that I would lose,
The closeness that we had each day.
Now there is distance in your eyes,
A silence where your laughter stood,
I search for something in disguise,
A sign that says we still are good.
I reach for you, you turn away,
I speak, you give me little sound,
I wonder what went wrong that day,
And why your heart is no longer found.
Your coldness leaves me lost at night,
With thoughts that never let me rest,
I wonder if I held you tight,
Would you remember all the rest?
I never wanted much from you,
Just something honest, something true,
A little warmth in all you do,
And one small sign you still cared too.
Perhaps your heart has changed its place,
Perhaps there is no love to save,
But still I miss your gentle face,
And all the happiness you gave.
If love is meant to make us stay,
Then why do I feel so alone?
I would give anything today,
To feel the heart that once was known.
So if you ever warm again,
And let me close enough to see,
I will forget the hurt and pain,
And hope you still have room for me.
