Lost in Time

The Lament of the Last Dinosaur

By Angel SriPublished 24 days ago 3 min read

In a land where time stood still,

A dinosaur roamed, free and wild.

A creature grand on every hill,

With eyes that gleamed so curious, mild.

Its scales were green, a forest deep,

Its roar echoed through valleys wide.

From dawn to dusk, in fields it’d leap,

A gentle giant with a lengthy stride.

The trees it brushed with tail so long,

The earth it shook with mighty feet.

The earth it shook with mighty feet.

In ancient forests, it belonged,

Where sun and shadows danced to greet.

It woke each day with rising sun,

A glow that warmed its massive frame.

In lakes and streams, it’d drink and run,

In this vast world, it knew no shame.

From cliffs it watched the stars at night,

A sky so vast, so clear, so bright.

Its heart would thump with pure delight,

In silent awe of nature’s might.

In silent awe of nature’s might.

It wandered plains and mountains high,

Through thunderstorms and skies so blue.

Beneath the endless, open sky,

Beneath the endless, open sky,

Each day, each night, it grew and grew.

Each day, each night, it grew and grew.

Its friends were creatures large and small,

Together they would roam the land.

They’d play and race, and when they'd call,

The echoes were both grand and grand.

The triceratops with horns so proud,

The triceratops with horns so proud,

The pterosaurs in flight so free.

The pterosaurs in flight so free.

They’d laugh, they’d roar, they’d sing aloud,

In harmony, their lives would be.

The stegosaurus with its plates,

The stegosaurus with its plates,

The long-necked ones who reached for leaves.

They shared their days, their dreams, their fates,

In times of joy and times of grief.

One day a storm, so fierce and wild,

One day a storm, so fierce and wild,

Rolled through the land with winds that roared.

The dinosaur, still like a child,

The dinosaur, still like a child,

Found shelter where the rain down poured.

It huddled close with friends so near,

They weathered through the stormy night.

And when the morning sun drew clear,

They ventured forth in morning light.

The world was changed, the air was still,

A quiet peace had come at last.

A quiet peace had come at last.

They climbed the highest, tallest hill,

And watched the storm clouds moving past.

With every step, each day, they’d find

New wonders in their ancient world.

The dinosaur, with heart so kind,

Its story in the earth unfurled.

The seasons passed, the years went by,

The land transformed in countless ways.

Yet still beneath the ancient sky,

The dinosaur spent all its days.

It lived a life so rich, so full,

With friends and places, times and tides.

Its heart was strong, its spirit whole,

Through every joy and every stride.

And when at last it lay to rest,

Beneath the stars, the moon’s soft gleam.

Its spirit soared to join the best,

In lands of memory and dream.

Its tale is told in whispers sweet,

In fossils deep and stories old.

A dinosaur, in time complete,

A gentle giant, brave and bold.

For in the hearts of those who hear,

Its legacy forever lives.

A world of wonder, free from fear,

A gift of love it always gives.

A gift of love it always gives.

So listen close and you might find,

The echoes of its mighty roar.

A timeless song, a tale so kind,

Of dinosaur forever more.

This is a real epic poem or an ode to the great dinosaurs. The repeating lines you wrote gave emphasis.
