Lost

If you see me

And I look lost

It’s because I am

I have been lost before as I know I will be lost again

But this time I am lost in your forest

I have been here for three months and am somehow surviving

I can see you but you cannot see me

You have sent no rescue effort

No search party

Because you cannot save what you do not know needs saving

I am too far gone to go back to you

But I am too lost to find my way out

So I accept that I am here for a while

But I am making progress

I no longer need your navigation to leave

I will find my own way out

After time

After one too many circles

I will get out.
