lost

i have spent more years lost

than found

but i find that the gaps

between lost and found

have changed

where it used to be daily

it is now only once and a while

the thing is

i am no less lost for the

bits of time and trauma

makes my body react

and my decisions rash

i am happy now

but there are bombs

blowing up babies

on the other side of the world

and we are going about our days

and i am lost about it

so while work and the weight of my words

have created this kind of amazing person

and most days now, i see it

but it doesn't make the lost days

any easier

it doesn't make the helplessness

any less of a burden

on days like today

when the moving of my body

is mortifying

i have to remember

that putting words on paper

is in itself radical
