Losing desire

On separation

What are we still doing here? Slowly drifting apart while trying to hold onto every moment that use to bring us joy. Those time have seemingly passed us by as we only find ourselves in constant unwinnable battles. Two losers hoping the other makes the bigger mistake that helps pointing the finger a lot easier. We both end up hating the fact that we met simply because our dying love anchors us together no matter how obvious the signs of separation may be. Love is unconditional, but somehow every turn has a new condition needed to make this love worthwhile. Quitting is a word we use to make our relationship seem desirable, but when really we are fools that would rather suffer than letting go. I find myself torn with thoughts of loving you forever and not seeing you ever again. It becomes scary when I only know being with you and I love how that usually makes me feel, but those emotions are never long lasting. Fighting against the truth is short term, as the thought of being without you appears unimaginable.
