Look

Up

By Hunter BlakelyPublished 3 years ago 2 min read

Dry night sky.

Dark enough for stars to shine.

Bright eyes indulge in this life.

Where things are simple, and life is sweet.

When people are humble, kind, and neat.

The land gives us what we need.

What use is there for things?

Why weigh ourselves down?

Dragons in air and cloud.

Unicorns on land.

Mermaids underwater.

See what others can't see, and share in the laughter.

Roll down hills.

Jump in swimming holes.

Relax, and live well.

It's easy when we allow ourselves.

Run and yell at the top of your lungs.

Dance like it's never been done.

Find others who also love to love.

Be what you wish to see.

And be patient with others, if they're not the same thing.

Share what you love with the ones who matter.

Oh how fine life can be.

How wonderful we've made our story.

Perhaps our conflicts are just beginnings to a conqueror's tale.

Something to keep our lives from growing stale.

Sometimes it hurts, and we don't like that much.

But if we open our eyes, and just look up...

We might remember the reasons we don't stop.

We keep moving, despite the times.

We keep moving, when all seems fine.

We keep moving, and that's how it will be.

Life is movement, so keep moving.

If it's not how you like it, ask yourself why.

If it's not how you like it, find a new way and try.

If it's not how you like it, remember what's good.

Build life the way you like it, and enjoy what is.

You're lovely, and humble, and sweet, and communicate what you need.

You listen and respond respectfully.

When you ask a question, people beg to be the one answering.

Because who wouldn't want to be seen talking with someone so keen?

You use manners, not because they're manners, but because you know how good it feels to be asked with a please.

You use your manners, because it feels so good to be appreciated properly.

You are fun and play nice.

You are exciting and willing to try.

And you know when to say no, because sometimes you must.

When you look to the stars, you see much more than stardust.

Your passion for the unknown is fueled by your love of life.

Sometimes, you may not feel so right.

Sometimes you might forget to find the stars at night.

Sometimes your head will bend and be crooked.

But there is a way to feel better when we feel done.

So when you feel down, remember the stars, and just look up.
