a lonely girl

There’s a girl, looking at the sky; Wishing she could be with that guy. There’s a girl, with a secret in her heart; That is tearing her apart. And there’s a girl, wishing to herself; That she could be someone else. There are times in all our lives when we feel as though no one truly knows us. She was a lonely, grumpy little girl but, oh so adorable and endearing. The kind of mysterious and exotic doll everyone wanted to own. But she wasn’t for everyone. Owning her meant accepting her many sullen moods, the dark layers of her soul, the silent cries of her heart, and making them all your own. Only then did she love you back, and when she finally did love you, your mind raced wild with her, ensconced in her magical world it made your heart soar higher, and set your soul on fire. Grey overcast skies, some hurrying past, some at their own pace. All with a home, someone to call their own. Am I the only one standing all alone. No one to hold me tight and kiss me goodnight. No one to wait for me, none by my side. In a forest of busy friends, have I to fend for myself, all alone for all my life.
