Loneliness

Last light standing

Lilac loneliness hesitates,

Lingering unseen behind

Eyelids bruised by sleep-

Less nights, hiding tired eyes.

An unfathomable gaze slips

Into the frigid waters of reality,

The warmth of dreams seeping away.

It's time to stand up, start to

Shoulder all that dead weight;

It's always a burden to bear.

Layers of skin, pierced by silver,

Give the roadmap to the destination-

As figured by the Fates, naturally.

It is precisely as it seems, except

That's the case only in the fantasies

That act as guide every night.

The immense melancholy mourns

The return of reality's ruthlessness.

Artemis, Atlas, Almathea, please,

Please lend your strength to me.
