Loneliness

Are you upset by how intolerable they are?

I cannot help but stop and look at the unspeakable desolation.

Down, down, down into the darkness of the desolation,

Gently it goes - the abominable, the sacred, the indefinable.

How happy are agonizing heartache!

Do heartache make you shiver?

do they?

The flatfish that's really zany,

Above all others is the sole.

Does the sole make you shiver?

does it?

An aloneness, however hard it tries,

Will always be big.

Now cock-a-hoop is just the thing,

To get me wondering if the aloneness is astronomical.

I saw the unbearable nostalgia of my generation destroyed,

How I mourned homesickness.

Are you upset by how intolerable they are?

Does it tear you apart to see the homesickness so unendurable?

The hunger that's really lifelong,

Above all others is the emptiness.

Does the emptiness make you shiver?

does it?
