Liverpool no longer top contender for Premier League title after Man Utd draw

The 2-2 draw against Manchester United on Sunday no longer make Liverpool the top contender for the Premier League title this season.

Before round 32 of the Premier League, Liverpool were considered by statistics site Opta to be the top candidate for the title with a possibility of 45%. At second are Man City with 33.6%, followed by Arsenal with 21.4%.

However, after the game, the odds have changed. With only a draw against Man United at Old Trafford, Liverpool's title chance has decreased by 13.7%, to 31.3%.

Liverpool also lost the top spot to Arsenal after the draw.

Currently, Liverpool and Arsenal both have 71 points, but Jurgen Klopp's team ranked second as Arsenal have a better goal difference.

Liverpool's schedule for the remaining rounds is not too difficult as their biggest opponent are Tottenham Hotspurs. However, statistics site Opta still believes that Liverpool's ability to win the title is lower than that of Man City.

Despite placing on the Premier League table (one point behind Arsenal and Liverpool), Man City's title chance is predicted to be 39.7%.

The reason why Man City became the number one title contender is because their upcoming match schedule is also not too difficult. The two biggest opponents that Man City will face are Tottenham and Aston Villa.

As for Arsenal, their title chance increased to 29% after round 32. However, they are still considered to have the lowest chance of lifting the trophy among the top three teams. Arsenal's schedule in the coming rounds is quite tough when they have to face Man United, Tottenham, Chelsea and Aston Villa.
