Liquid Water, Tears, and Me

A sad lonely life

Liquid Water, Tears, and Me

Liquid water filled the sink,

While I stood too numb to think,

Watching my reflection break,

Like every promise love could make.

The bathroom light flickered weak,

As tears rolled slowly down my cheek,

Cold as rivers in the rain,

Heavy with unspoken pain.

The mirror knew the things I hide,

The storms I bury deep inside,

Every scar beneath my skin,

Every war I couldn’t win.

Water circled down the drain,

Like memories dissolving pain,

Yet somehow grief remained behind,

Etched forever in my mind.

The house was silent, dark, and still,

A hollow room no warmth could fill,

And every clock upon the wall,

Sounded like my final call.

I pressed my hands beneath the tap,

Trying to escape the trap,

But tears and water looked the same,

Both transparent forms of pain.

Outside the night consumed the sky,

While somewhere distant people smiled,

And I envied every soul,

That never carried this black hole.

So now I let the water run,

Till morning swallows up the sun,

Because sometimes tears are all we keep,

When the world forgets we weep.
