Lionheart

Lionheart

The heart of a lion is oh so fierce,

eyes of a hunter and teeth that pierce.

But underneath that ferocious exterior,

is a loving heart beating on the interior.

It shows no fear but only love,

as powerful as an army but as gentle as a dove.

You cannot tame a lion's heart,

his sort of love can tear you apart.

A lion roars as a jaybird sings,

it moves through the night like the eagle through the sky on glorious wings.

It does not brag and it does not boast,

yet it is known as a king from coast to coast.

When most think of a lion they think of it's teeth,

when I think of a lion I see the beauty underneath.

Honor and courage are it's ultimate prize,

and it has no enemies in which to despise.

It protects it's young from the perils of life,

and stands by it's mate like husband and wife.
