Limerence
What's the verdict on its connotations versus reality?
Is limerence a dirty word?
I feel filthy when I think
about the way it can effect me.
So pure and light
like a joy from within
until you examine it
with microscopic precision
and realize that
limerence isn't love,
it's egotistical obsession.
Limerence says
nothing matters except
how it makes me feel.
Love asks
how does it make
the other person feel,
are we in this together?
Limerence doesn't give a fuck,
it says this is what I want
everything else be damned.
How can a state of being
feel so wholesome and innocent
until you become aware of it
and discover the true dirtiness
of limerence?
