Lilac green and blue

A poem

Lilac green and blue

Rainbow lines I call them, I see lilac green and blue.

They show me and the world, that I’m not yet through.

Though the battle wages on beneath,

silver scars and stretch marks scream relief.

This canvas, this body, these bones and patterned skin,

proof to the world, I’m stronger than I think.

From the war of the mind and the self medicating,

scars, rainbow lines are breath while suffocating.

I will find the beauty in the lilac green and blue,

I’ll see my growth and victories,

and I hope you do too.
