The Lighthouse

Sometimes when you stare deep into my soul.

And your words echo in my mind.

I feel something I have never felt.

Realise I’ve found something I thought I’d never find.

The tears fill my eyes.

That have been held back for an entire lifetime.

The ghosts of pain and heartache disappear.

For you are now mine.

I’ve held on and held in all my life.

Remained strong and never felt of my sorrows I could share.

But I see in your eyes, truth and not lies.

I can feel how much you care.

I am overwhelmed at the power of your love.

And I try to let go.

To let you in to the little boy that still hides inside.

Of my unspoken feelings I fight to show.

As the Lighthouse that beams hope to the sailors.

That are lost in merciless seas.

You shine a light of hope through my fears.

And come to rescue me.

I am saved by the passionate heart you have.

That helps me survive through the night.

I find peace in the madness of my mind.

I know whatever happens I will be alright.

When the storms are relentless, and the waves are so high.

When the chaos and confusion fills my mind.

When I am scared in the dark and it’s too hard to see

You are the Lighthouse that forever guides me.
