five minutes Lu Lu

he would exclaim down the hall

through the door of the bathroom

declaring last call

to keep us on time

just to keep us on track

I sure wish sometimes

I could get those moments back

sentimental memories

simple moments we shared

those lonely day remedies

for when I'm unprepared

for the trials of the day

and longing of the past

on this adventurous journey

from beginning to last

an average 79 summers

2.49 billion seconds

roughly 28,854 suppers

to learn life's little lessons

and he taught them with grace

wiping the tears from our eyes

with a smile on his face

teaching the value of time

and the truth of last call

when it seems over and done

is not really over at all

there is more still to come

A/N:

I missed the deadline and word count for the challenge, but wanted to share another wonderful memory of my dad, Boyd
