Life’s a gift

I often wonder, if my life was planned,

Guided by, some hidden hand,

There are key moments, that do stand out,

So vivid and stark, they scream and shout,

Some key instructions, I’d been given before,

I came in this world, and knew what’s in store,

Certain moments, more like markers strong,

To ensure some path, I stayed along,

Could it be, we have a destiny?

To learn these lessons, or are we free?

We have the choice, at every stage,

To take the path, of peace or rage,

But certain moments, change dramatically,

The life we live, categorically,

Like a junction, on train tracks,

Direction changed, there’s no going back,

We make that choice, and must embrace,

What in our path, we now must face,

But these moments keep, surfacing,

They seem so clear, like they’re marshalling,

Moments where, I need to act,

Are these cards dealt, or are they stacked?

There is no way, to know the truth,

At the end maybe, we’ll see the proof,

Whatever the reason, the path I choose,

In life you never, really lose,

You learn a lesson, at every turn,

And life’s a gift, we shouldn’t spurn.
