Life’s a Bitch Then You Die
That’s what they say isn’t it?

Life’s a Bitch Then You Die
Life’s a bitch then you die,
That’s what many people say,
Watching dreams slip through their fingers,
As the years steal hope away.
Bills arrive without warning,
Prices climb another wall,
Working hard from dawn to darkness,
Still not getting much at all.
Some wear smiles to hide the struggle,
Some stay silent through the pain,
Standing strong through every setback,
Walking through the endless rain.
Trust gets broken by the people,
Who once swore they’d always stay,
Leaving scars that time remembers,
Long after they walk away.
Life can feel unfair and cruel,
Kicking hard when spirits fall,
Testing every ounce of courage,
Seeing who survives it all.
Yet the heart keeps finding reasons,
To rise up and face the day,
Holding tight to small moments,
That the world can’t take away.
Kindness shines in unexpected places,
A hand held out when times are rough,
Proof that even in the darkness,
There can still be enough.
Life’s a bitch then you die,
Maybe there is truth somewhere,
Yet while breathing, while still standing,
There is strength beyond despair.
Each month, Calvin London and I pick a topic to write about. We both write something on the topic. It can be a poem, a fictional story, or a non-fiction piece. Feel free to join if you want too 😊
